River Almond by Jim Wilson
Arthurs seat is a great walk but I don't think you can beat the walk from the Cramond starting at about the old Kirk down to the foreshore with its views of the island, Forth and across to Fife then past the boat club, white washed houses, swans and the old row boat ferry and along the river Almond down past the ruined mill and the waterfall. All the way along to the old Cramond Brigg.
The walk takes about an hour or so, nothing but fresh air, old trees, the sound of the river and not too many people once you get past the boat club. It is an always has been my favorite walk in Edinburgh
